Recently, Zhou Yuxian, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China Building Materials Group, presided over the first collective learning (expansion) meeting of the Party Committee Theory Learning Center Group in 2021. Cao Jianglin, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and general manager of the group, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Other members of the group's central group attended the meeting and made exchange speeches. Yan Haochun, general manager of the Certification and Evaluation Center of the State Inspection Group, explained the response to the carbon neutral situation, the national carbon trading market policy and the current situation and thinking of the Group's carbon asset management.

Yan Haochun made a special report from five aspects: the background of climate change policy, the interpretation of the national carbon emission trading policy, the analysis of carbon emissions in the building materials industry, the experience of carbon management of large enterprise groups, and the basis and suggestions of carbon management of building materials groups. She reviewed the development process of global response to climate change and the latest policies of the United States and the European Union, and explained China's responsibilities and responsibilities in response to climate change. Since September 2020, General Secretary Xi Jinping has talked about China's carbon peak in 2030 and carbon neutral climate vision in 2060 on seven important occasions and meetings. In 2019, the global carbon dioxide emissions will reach 34.71 billion tons, and China's total carbon emissions will reach 9.83 billion tons. The emissions of the building materials industry account for about 16% of the national emissions. The carbon peak of the building materials industry is very important. She also explained in detail the relevant policies of my country's carbon market and carbon emission trading, introduced the effective experience of carbon management of large-scale energy central enterprises, and combined with the actual situation of the group, focusing on the technical path and carbon management of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. Zhou Yuxian stressed at the meeting that carbon peak and carbon neutrality are major decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee, which have been included in the "proposal of the CPC Central Committee on the formulation of the 14th five-year Plan for National Economic and Social Development and the 2035 long-term goals". All sectors of society have responded positively. As the only central enterprise in my country's building materials industry, the group must be aware of the "big country" and take this work as an important part of the group's "14th Five-Year Plan", attach great importance to it, make careful arrangements, and promote it layer by layer.
