27400 new construction! The Ministry of Housing and Construction announced the progress of the transformation of old residential areas in cities and towns across the country in the previous May.

The 2022 Government Work Report proposes to start the renovation of a number of old urban communities. After summarizing the statistics and reporting data from all over the country, in 2022, the country plans to start new construction to renovate 51000 and 8.4 million households in old urban areas. From January to May 2022, 27400 and 4.74 million households will be newly started to renovate old urban communities nationwide, accounting for 53.5 per cent of the annual target task according to the number of communities. Among them, the top areas of construction progress are Hebei, Hubei, Shandong, Inner Mongolia, Guizhou and Beijing.
