Recently, Zhou Yuxian, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China Building Materials Group, accepted an interview with a reporter from Yingcai Magazine and introduced the progress and thinking of China Building Materials Group's digital transformation.

Recently, Zhou Yuxian, secretary of the party committee and chairman of the group, was interviewed by media reporters at the parallel forum of the Seventh World Intelligence Congress-Digital Empowerment Manufacturing Summit and the first Sinoma International Cement Green Intelligence Development Summit.
At the beginning of the year, Zhou Yuxian said on several occasions that digital transformation is a must-answer question, not a multiple-choice question. 2023 is the first year of China National Building Materials Group's digital transformation, and the group's "four modernizations" construction is also progressing in an orderly manner as planned.

In terms of R & D and design digitization, China National Building Materials Group has done a lot of fruitful work. The upgrading and reconstruction project of French Lahao MK3 cement production line undertaken by Sinoma International is the first project to adopt remote collaborative digital means and realize visual construction. This project requires the installation of a new production line next to the old production line, but the other party requires that the old production line cannot be dismantled before the new production line is completed, resulting in very limited space that can be moved. In the end, Sinoma International completed on-site surveying and mapping by using unmanned aerial vehicle laser ranging, uploaded the collected data to the cloud, and carried out three-dimensional design on the cloud. Through digital twin technology, a three-dimensional digital factory is also generated while delivering a physical factory. Through this technology, under the unified control of the domestic headquarters, this production line as far away as France was successfully installed at one time. In addition, the lifting of the rotary kiln in the cement kiln is also successfully installed in the case of remote control. This production line is the first cement project in Europe to deal with the new environmental protection standards, and it has also become a vivid case of Chinese enterprises practicing green development and realizing the digitization of R & D and design on the international stage. It can be seen that the digital process of R & D and design is gradually improving the production efficiency of the whole company, but it is undeniable that there is still a long way to go in the future.

In terms of manufacturing intelligence, one is the intelligence of core equipment manufacturing, and the other is the use of core equipment to form an intelligent production line. Not only basic building materials, but also intelligent production lines for various new materials. For example, Sinoma International has built more than 20 intelligent cement production lines for Xintianshan. In addition, the Group's glass fiber intelligent production line has also been completed and put into operation.

In terms of digitalization of operation and management and agility of customer service, CNBM takes digital transformation planning as the key link, and is actively promoting data value-added by using huge application scenarios and massive data. Through the real operating data stored by enterprises over the years, continuous optimization of algorithms and models can continuously improve the added value of data, thus reducing costs and increasing efficiency and enhancing market competitiveness.
Digital transformation is not an overnight effort and does not advance or retreat, so it requires sustained strategic determination and long-term uninterrupted investment to truly take effect. Zhou Yuxian predicted that it would take at least three to five years to see obvious results. In his view, if China National Building Materials wants to become a world-class state-owned capital investment company, digital transformation is a hurdle that must be passed, and it will stick to it no matter how long it takes.
