Recently, China National Building Materials Institute received the honorary title of "Advanced Unit for Material Production Supervision" of Baihetan Hydropower Station in 2020 from China Three Gorges Construction Management Co., Ltd. The Baihetan Hydropower Station project has a maximum dam height of 289 meters and an installed capacity of 16 million kilowatts. It is planned that the first batch of units will be put into operation in July 2021. After the completion of the power station in 2022, it will become the world's second largest hydropower station after the Three Gorges Hydropower Station. Baihetan Hydropower Station will use low-heat cement independently developed by China Building Materials Institute and won the National Science and Technology Invention Award throughout the dam.
