On the occasion of the "May 1st" International Labor Day, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, on behalf of the Party Central Committee, extended holiday congratulations and sincere condolences to the broad masses of working people across the country.
Xi Jinping pointed out that this year is the first year of implementing the "14th Five-Year Plan" and starting a new journey of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way. It is the 100 anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. The broad masses of working people have made important contributions to the development of the Party and the country by overcoming the adverse effects of the new coronary pneumonia epidemic.
Xi Jinping stressed that labor creates happiness and hard work makes great achievements. It is hoped that the broad masses of working people will vigorously carry forward the spirit of model workers, labor spirit, and craftsmanship, be diligent in creation and struggle, give better play to the role of the main force, and devote themselves with confidence to the great cause of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Party committees and governments at all levels must fully mobilize the enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity of the broad masses of working people, effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of the broad masses of working people, and support and encourage the broad masses of working people to do better in the new era.
