Dear colleagues:

It is a great pleasure to be here today at the Climate Ambition Summit. Five years ago, leaders of various countries promoted the Paris Agreement on climate change with the greatest political determination and wisdom. Over the past five years, the Paris Agreement has entered the implementation stage and has received extensive support and participation from the international community. At present, the international landscape is accelerating, the new coronary pneumonia epidemic has triggered a profound reflection on the relationship between man and nature, and the future of global climate governance has attracted more attention. Here are three initiatives.

First, unite as one to create a new situation of climate governance with win-win cooperation. In the face of the challenge of climate change, the fate of mankind is shared and unilateralism has no way out. Only by adhering to multilateralism, stressing unity and promoting cooperation can we achieve mutual benefit and benefit the people of all countries. China welcomes all countries to support the Paris Agreement and make greater contributions to addressing climate change.

Second, boost ambition and form a new climate governance system that does its best. All countries should follow the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities and strengthen their actions to the greatest extent according to their national conditions and capabilities. At the same time, developed countries should effectively increase the provision of financial, technological and capacity-building support to developing countries.

Third, strengthen confidence and adhere to the new climate governance thinking of green recovery. Green water and green mountains is Jinshan Yinshan. We must vigorously advocate a green and low-carbon production and lifestyle, and seek development opportunities and motivation from green development.

China has made important contributions to the Paris Agreement on climate change and is also an active practitioner of the Paris Agreement. In September of this year, I announced that China will increase its nationally determined contribution and adopt more powerful policies and measures to strive to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.

Here, I would like to further announce that by 2030, China's carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP will be reduced by more than 65% compared with 2005, non-fossil energy will account for about 25% of primary energy consumption, forest stock will be increased by 6 billion cubic meters compared with 2005, and the total installed capacity of wind power and solar power will reach more than 1.2 billion kilowatts.

China has always kept its promises and will take the new development concept as the guide, promote the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development in promoting high-quality development, implement the above goals in a down-to-earth manner, and make greater contributions to the global response to climate change.
