Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, June 18. The "Belt and Road" high-level video conference on international cooperation was successfully held in Beijing on the 18th. President Xi Jinping delivered a written speech to the meeting.

Xi Jinping pointed out that this sudden epidemic has posed a serious threat to the lives and health of people of all countries, and has caused a serious impact on the world economy. Some countries, especially developing countries, are facing serious economic and social difficulties. In response to the epidemic, countries have taken effective prevention and control measures based on their own national conditions and achieved positive results. Many countries are working hard to restore economic and social development while preventing and controlling the epidemic. China adheres to the principle of putting people first and life first, and is willing to contribute to the early global victory over the epidemic and the recovery of the world economy.

Xi Jinping pointed out that the epidemic has brought us a series of profound enlightenment. The destinies of all countries are closely linked, and mankind is a community of destiny that is in the same boat. Whether it is to deal with the epidemic or to restore the economy, we should take the road of unity and cooperation and adhere to multilateralism. Promoting connectivity and adhering to openness and inclusiveness is the only way to deal with the global crisis and achieve long-term development, and international cooperation in jointly building "Belt and Road Initiative" can play an important role.

Xi Jinping stressed that China has always adhered to peaceful development and mutual benefit and win-win results. We are willing to work with our partners to build the "Belt and Road" into a road of cooperation that unites and responds to challenges, a road of health that maintains people's health and safety, a road of recovery that promotes economic and social recovery, and a road of growth that releases development potential. Through the high-quality co-construction of "the belt and road initiative", we will jointly promote the construction of a community of human destiny.

The meeting was jointly organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, the Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Health and Health Commission. The theme was "Strengthening the Belt and Road International Cooperation and Joining Hands to Fight the New Coronary Pneumonia Epidemic". Foreign ministers or ministerial officials from 25 countries and WHO Director-General Tan Desai, UN Deputy Secretary-General and UNDP Administrator Steiner attended the meeting and issued a joint statement.
